Disney Trip: Disney Hollywood Studios

AKA... MGM! ha ha! Disney Hollywood Studios used to be called MGM, personally, I cannot stop calling it MGM and I heard plenty of people around me in the Disney parks still calling it MGM so I know I am not the only one. But for all intents and purposes, it is really now "Disney Hollywood Studios"... my favorite of the Disney parks.

I conveniently scheduled our dinner reservation for the first night of our trip to be at the 50's Prime Time Cafe at MGM DHS so that we could go there first. I love, love, love, love, love the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and could honestly ride it 1,293,371 times in a row if I was allowed to. Unfortunately, I had to settle for 4 times the entire trip but maybe next time I visit...

I was so excited to share my love of this ride with The Son and he bravely went on it, his first ride of the whole trip. I could tell he was a little scared and I was very proud of him for being so brave.

Here's a few shots of us waiting in line. I have to apologize for the way I will look in all these pictures. I had to wear my hair in a pony tail. Every. Day. I would have been a hot mess if I hadn't and I'm sure I looked fresh and cute (yeah, right) all day long because of the pony tail, however, the pony tail look doesn't translate well to photos. You'll just have to deal with it.

Here's the inside of the "Hollywood Tower Hotel, " so much fun to look around. The BIL #1 tells me that they have to bring fresh cobwebs IN every three days. I believe it. It was very webby.

Here we are standing on our spots to get on the ride. The Son was excited that we were on spot #5 because he's 5, ya know? If you know him, and even if you don't, you can see the change in expression that he's getting a little more scared as we get closer. I want to let you know that we NEVER told him he had to go on the ride, we told him exactly what was going to happen and he agreed to go on. The Husband even told him that he's a little scared of the ride and he still agreed to go on, he's a very, very brave boy.

We're in the elevator and the ride is about to start... not looking so thrilled now...

The ride was awesome! Even The Husband said it wasn't as bad as he remembered. He's afraid of heights and the past couple times we went to MGM DHS, he refused to go on this ride. The Son however proclaimed, with a few little tears in his eyes, "I am NEVER going on that again!" Honestly, I felt kind of bad but he was only upset for a minute and I know he was proud of himself for doing the ride at all. He told everyone he rode it and told everyone he hated it. It was very funny. We praised him a lot and told him it was brave to try and that it was OK that he didn't like it. For the record, he loved every other ride that he was tall enough to go on.

So, that's the beginning of our trip to MGM DHS, I'll post some more photos tomorrow and tell you about the best new ride at Disney... Toy Story Mania!

Enjoy your Monday!
