The Son and his vivid imagination

Do you wonder why the child above has a pillow tied to his back? No, it's not because he falls down all the time, he does of course, but that's not why... it's because he's a turtle! Yesterday, The Son had a great time pretending that he was a turtle. His preschool teacher Ms. Lisa found a turtle and she brought it in on Monday to show the kids. I guess he had turtles on his mind. He asked me to tie this pillow onto his back with his blanket and then crawled around for hours with it attached to him.  As you can see from the pictures, he played lots of other things AS he was being a turtle. Who knew that turtles liked Thomas the Tank Engine?

The best part of this performance/game was when he "crawled" onto the hardwood floors in the kitchen and pretended that his feet were giving out on the slippery floor. He made me pick him up off the hard wood and put him onto the carpeting so that he could move again. it was hilarious. I try so hard not to laugh at him because to him, this is a very serious game. It turns out that the classroom turtle did the same thing when he crawled onto the linoleum floors. Ms. Lisa had to pick him up and move him back to the carpeted area. I bet Ms. Lisa's turtle didn't weigh 40 pounds though.

Is that the cutest turtle you've ever seen? Look out Franklin, there's a new turtle in town!
