The first "Momma's Boy"

This is Iago. He's officially "The World's Greatest Miniature Pinscher". The best dog I've ever had. Iago is almost 12 and we've had him since he was a puppy. Miniature Pinscher's are known for being high energy, high strung dogs and Iago was DEFINITELY high energy when he was younger but never was he high strung. He's always been a very friendly, lovable, guy to just about everyone he meets.

Now the bad part, Iago has some kind of cancer. He's at the veterinary oncologist now with The Husband finding out what we can do for him. About a month ago, he went to a new vet here in our new neighborhood and they found a lump on his neck. They did a biopsy and found out it was cancerous, they did a chest x-ray and found out it wasn't coming from his lungs. To me, that sounds good but what the heck to I know? Our vet had to refer him to a specialist and that's where he is today. He'll be getting an MRI after the exam and I'm hoping, we'll know something soon. It's worrying me sick, I CANNOT lose another loved one to cancer, I just can't.

Iago seems like he feels fine, he's frisky (for an older dog) he eats well, he's shiny and bright-eyed and smart. Nothing makes him happier than to sit on the couch with me, his Momma and snuggle and get a nice scratch behind the ears, while he loves the rest of The Family very much, he's always been a "Momma's Boy.  Please send all your kind wishes and doggie prayers out there to Iago today and in the future. We just want our special boy to stick around for a while longer.

Here he is with his "brother" DaVinci. Vinnie is a sweet dog too, not the smartest puppy in the litter but a darling Italian Greyhound whom we also love very much. He loves his big brother and although the feeling is not always mutual, Vinnie will be lost if anything happens to him.

I just really hope whatever it is can be treated.
